The Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder, who tested positive last week, is still suffering from cough and breathing problem
Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) Founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury’s wife and son have also tested positive for Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
Zafrullah on Monday told Dhaka Tribune that his wife Shirin Parveen Huq and son Bareesh Hasan Chowdhury were tested with the GR Covid-19 Dot Blot, a rapid testing kit recently developed by GK, at GK’s laboratory, and both tested positive.
On Sunday, they also tested positive for Covid-19 through the RT-PCR test at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
Zafrullah said Shirin has been coughing and suffering from fever, and she received treatment at the hospital on Sunday.
However, his son has been in isolation at their Dhanmondi residence, but he has no complication.
Zafrullah himself was diagnosed with Covid-19 on May 25, after he also got tested with the GK’s rapid testing kit.
Four days later, a RT-PCR test at BSMMU also found him positive for Covid-19.
He said on Monday that his fever has subsided, but he is still suffering from a cough and breathing problems.
He said he would get oxygen support at the Gonoshasthaya Kendra hospital if his saturation level drops.
