A total of 269 Bangladeshi nationals have left Dhaka for Italy on a special flight arranged by Biman Bangladesh Airlines amid flight restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The special flight left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Rome, Italy, around 12:15pm on Tuesday.
Tahera Khondoker, deputy general manager (public relations) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, confirmed the departure to the Dhaka Tribune.
Thus far, 815 Bangladeshi nationals have gone to Italy on special flights arranged by the national flag carrier.
“All Bangladeshis residing in Italy have now been sent back there and they will soon join their respective jobs,” said the Biman spokesperson.

An airport official confirmed that all Bangladeshi nationals making the journey had Covid-19 negative certificates and followed all health directives set forth by the government.
