It is very important to do at least 20-30 minutes of moderate or intensive physical activity each day, as per WHO

According to the World Health Organization, it is very important to do at least 20-30 minutes of moderate or intensive physical activity each day.

Keeping this in mind, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dhaka West launched an hour-long webinar titled ‘Move to Stay Active’ under Project Biborton to teach its audience easy freehand exercises, said a statement issued by the organization.

An initial analysis by JCI Dhaka West through an online survey showed that 36.7% of the respondents did not engage in any kind of physical activity in the last three months.

On the other hand, 62.6% of the respondents were interested in virtually learning simple physical exercise techniques.

Being physically fit is key to having a good immune system, which is of utmost importance especially during this pandemic.

These were the things that inspired the organization to hold the webinar.

Tahera Islam Samida, a certified yoga instructor with over eight years of experience, and the only boxing participant from Bangladesh Thai boxing at BKK National Stadium, 2018, showed the webinar participants easy stretching techniques to relieve neck pain, squats, and workout moves which target the lower abdomen.

For a healthier life and wellbeing, Project Biborton has launched a series of webinars to address and educate its participants on the importance of sound mental and physical health.

JCI Dhaka West President Syed Mosayeb Alam, Project Mentor Syed Nishat Naila, and Project Lead Kazi Farhana supervise these online sessions.

JCI Dhaka West has two more webinars coming in the following week.

The speaker of the coming mental health session, Rezwana Sultana, a psychological counsellor, will speak about self-care, work-life balance, and empathy, while the physical health session to be conducted by fitness coach Shahjada Md Shahnewaz will be all about freehand exercises at home.

JCI is a worldwide organization of young professionals and leaders between the ages of 18 and 40.

The organization is found in over 120 countries and has a membership of 200,000 across the world, said the statement.

The work of this organization is to contribute to the advancement of the global community by providing the opportunity for young people to develop the leadership skills, social responsibility, fellowship, and entrepreneurship necessary to create positive change.
