On July 16, police arrested Abida Sultana Lucky and Sajjad Hossain Milon after a case was lodged with Boda police station
A Panchagarh court on Thursday placed two accused including Boda upazila Jubo Mohila League General Secretary Abida Sultana Lucky on a one-day remand in a case filed over the gang rape of a model in the upazila.
The other accused is Sajjad Hossain Milon, 33.
Panachargarh Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Humayun Kabir passed the order after holding a virtual hearing.
Abu Sayem Miah, officer-in-Charge of Boda police station, also the investigation officer of the case, confirmed the matter.
On July 16, police arrested Abida Sultana Lucky and Sajjad Hossain Milon after a case was lodged with Boda police station by the 28-year-old victim against three named and 10 to 12 unnamed suspects.
According to the case statement, accused Sajjad, who claims to be the chief news editor and graphics designer of an organization named Prothom Bangla TV, had invited the victim to come to Panchagarh for the shooting of a music video.
On July 14, as per Sajjad’s instructions, the victim arrived in Boda upazila and Sajjad took her to the house of local Jubo Mohila League leader Lucky at Thanapara area.
There Sajjad, along with four to five others, raped her.
Later, the victim was taken to another house in Bhasainagar area of Boda Municipality, where she was gang-raped again.
Finally, on July 15, the victim somehow managed to flee and went to Boda police station and filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
