The relationship between the two neighbouring countries is advancing towards newer dimensions, says the minister
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said Bangladesh and India had a stronger, more friendly, and more development-oriented relationship than ever.
“If relations with neighbouring countries become friendly and strong, it will be easier to make mutual progress and resolve unsettled bilateral issues,” he told reporters after Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das paid a courtesy call on him at his secretariat office.
Quader, also the Awami League general secretary, said Bangladesh-India relations are tied by the bloodstained Liberation War of 1971, and the neighboring countries are tested friends.
He said the relationship bridge between the two countries is advancing towards newer dimensions with the course of time.
During the meeting they discussed the progress of the under-implementation projects in road infrastructural development and public transport in Bangladesh under the Indian Lines of Credit, he added.
The minister extended his thanks to the high commissioner for her cooperation in taking the road infrastructural development projects ahead in Bangladesh.
