US-Bangla to resume its Kuala Lumpur flights Aug 16

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has also decided to resume its regular flights to Kuala Lumpur from next week

US-Bangla Airlines has decided to resume its Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur flights from August 16.

Kamrul Islam, general manager, Public Relations (PR) at US- Bangla confirmed the matter on Wednesday.

Initially, flights will operate from Dhaka to Kuala Lumpur for two days every week.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has also decided to resume its regular flights to Kuala Lumpur from next week.

The private airlines are currently operating flights to Guangzhou while Biman will also operate its flight to the same destination from August 16..

Flights will be operated on the Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur-Dhaka route with a 164-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

554 Bangladeshis return from Maldives and Qatar

A total of 554 Bangladeshis have returned from two countries by a special flight Biman.

Tahera Khondoker, deputy general manager (public relations) of the airline, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

A total of 412 Bangladesh nationals returned from Doha, while 142 to from Maldives. 

On Wednesday, a special flight of the airlines carried 412 Bangladeshi nationals from Doha and landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport(HSIA) at 5:58am. 

On Tuesday another flight of the airlines carried 142 Bangladeshi nationals from Male, Maldives and landed at HSIA around 6:42pm. 

The  Bangladeshi returnees were stranded in Qatar and Maldives due to travel restrictions enforced to curb the coronavirus pandemic.

Most of the Bangladeshis had been staying in Qatar without any job, even though they went there as workers. 

Some of them may have lost their jobs due to the lockdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic and a few of them were there on tourist visas, as well.
