Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday predicted moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over southern part of Bangladesh.
It also said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions, at a few places over Dhaka and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Mymensingh divisions on the day.
Day and night temperature may rise 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country, said a Met office release.
A low pressure area has formed over North Bay and adjoining area. The low over West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining area has become less important and merged with the monsoon axis. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
The maximum temperature was recorded on Sunday 34.5 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi and lowest one on Monday was recorded 24.6 degrees Celsius at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar.
