They demanded Tk60 per liter milk and proper distribution with transportation cost fixed at Tk3
Dairy farmers have spilled 3,000 liters of milk on the highway in protest of increasing losses due to persistent hikes in the price of animal feed.

They also formed a human chain and took out a rally.
Farmer leaders said the price of animal feed hiked from Tk200 to Tk300 during the pandemic, while per litre milk price went down by Tk8 to Tk10.
Milk is currently being sold at Tk 45 to Tk 50 per litre, which is inflicting great losses on their entire sector, the protesters said.
They demanded Tk60 per litre of milk and proper distribution with transportation cost at Tk3.
The supply of milk at sweet shops will remain suspended until their demands are met, they said.
