Captain Akram breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital on Monday
Veteran pilot Bir Uttam Captain Akram Ahmed has been laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard in Dhaka.
He was buried with state honours on Tuesday, following namaz-e-janaza at the parade ground of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Base Bashar, says a media statement of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The BAF organized a fly-past to pay homage to his departed soul.
Earlier, Additional Secretary M Idris Siddiqui, on behalf of Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman and Defence Attache of Indian High Commission Brigadier JS Chima paid homage to the deceased by placing wreaths on his coffin.

Captain Akram breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital on Monday.
The war hero had been serving as a contractual senior consultant at the CAAB since October 2007.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, and host of relatives, friends and well-wishers to mourn his death.
He was an active member of the historic Kilo Flight, the code name for the Mukti Bahini combat aviation formation during the Liberation War in 1971. Kilo Flight caused havoc behind enemy territory during the War of Independence.
He was awarded the title of Bir Uttam, the second highest award for individual gallantry in Bangladesh, for his role in 1971.
