The lowest temperature in the country on Saturday was recorded at 7.7°C in Tetulia, Panchagarh
Temperatures across the country did not change much in the last two days, but the mercury may rise from Sunday, according to the Met office.
“The grip of winter is going to weaken. A cold wave is sweeping over some areas; it may subside this week,” said meteorologist Abdul Mannan.
On Saturday, temperatures in seven districts of the country were below the 10°C mark. The lowest temperature was recorded at 7.7°C in Tetulia, Panchagarh.
Meanwhile, in the divisional cities, the lowest temperature was recorded in Dhaka at 15.1°C, Mymensingh at 11°C, Chittagong at 13.9°C, Sylhet at 13.9°C, Rajshahi at 10.5°C, Rangpur at 11°C, Khulna at 12°C and Barisal at 10.7°C.
“The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country,” according to the forecast of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
Light to moderate fog may occur at places over the country from midnight to morning, the BMD said in their daily weather bulletin.
The mild cold wave sweeping over Rangpur Division and some regions of Pabna, Naogaon, Jessore, Chuadanga and Sreemangal may continue, it added.
