Shakib Al Hasan, Tahsan, Shakib Khan among top taxpayers in Bangladesh

Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan, singer Tahsan Rahman Khan and actor Shakib Khan have ranked as the top taxpayers in their respective subcategories for the 2019-2020 tax year.

The Internal Resources Division (IRD) of the Finance Ministry issued a gazette notification on January 20, revealing the names of the highest taxpayers of the country under three main categories.

The top taxpayers will be given tax cards, said the gazette. 

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was the highest taxpayer in the sportsman subcategory, followed by Tamim Iqbal Khan and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.

Renowned singer Tahsan Rahman Khan occupied the top spot among singers, while Momtaz Begum MP ranked second in the list. 

Meanwhile, popular movie actor Shakib Khan Rana was the top taxpayer in the actor/actress subcategory. 

Hakimpuri Jarda owner Kaus Miah held the top position in the businessman subcategory.

In the under 40 subclass, Nafisa Kamal, daughter of Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, held the third position.

Meanwhile, The Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam was the top taxpayer in the journalist subcategory.
