Covid-19: Over 260,000 people get vaccinated on Thursday

Bangladesh has vaccinated nearly 1.85 million people so far

The health authorities in Bangladesh on Thursday inoculated over a quarter of a million people against the contagious Covid-19 disease.

Altogether 261,945 people were administered their first dose of the vaccine on the day. Of them, 164,936 were men and 97,009 were women, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A little over 226,000 people have been immunized in the last three days on average.

With Thursday’s inoculations, the health authorities have so far administered vaccine doses to 1,848,313 people across the country. Of them, 1,233,655 were men while 614,658 were women.

Twenty-seven of Thursday’s vaccine recipients experienced mild side effects. Till now, side effects in 537 people have been recorded.

All the divisions of the country saw an increase in vaccinations compared to the previous day, according to the DGHS.

Chittagong Division saw the highest increase — as many as 54,788 people were inoculated in the region on Thursday, compared to 44,783 on Wednesday.
