High Court fines Aziz Co-operative 10L for wasting its time

Company told to deposit the money to the exchequer within the next three months

The High Court has fined Aziz Co-operative Commerce and Finance Credit Society Limited Tk10 lakh for not proceeding with the trial in a case it filed and for wasting the court’s time.

The court has also ordered the company to deposit the money to the exchequer within the next three months, reports Bangla Tribune.

The virtual bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Mohi Uddin Shamim passed the orders on Wednesday.

Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik, who represented the state, said the court’s orders came as it was hearing a case seeking the closure of general banking activities of the company.
