4,296,344 people registered to receive Covid-19 vaccines

A total of 4,296,344 people have so far been registered to receive Covid-19 vaccines, after the vaccination registration campaign was launched on January 27.

“As many as 4,296,344 people got registered until 2.30pm on Sunday, to take Covid-19 vaccines,” the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) sources said.

As of February 27, the number of vaccine receivers is 2,984,773. Among the vaccine receivers, 1,937,026 are male and 1,047,747 are female as the countrywide vaccination campaign was launched on February 7.

People aged 40 years and above can register to receive Covid-19 vaccines, health ministry sources said.

The vaccination drive is being conducted at 50 hospitals in Dhaka city and 1,005 hospitals outside the capital, the DGHS said, adding the immunization program will begin at 8am and will continue until 2.30 pm every day.

However, some hospitals will continue the vaccination program throughout the day, the health official said.

People have been asked to register by visiting the official Surokkha website (www.surokkha.gov.bd) to receive the vaccines.
