'Kishore will need hearing aid'

Cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore has been under close observation of doctors at a hospital in Dhaka for the past three days.

He has undergone various medical tests and need to stay in the hospital for few more days, Kishore’s elder brother Ahsan Kabir told Bangla Tribune on Sunday.

“Doctors have told us that Kishore’s ear has been severely damaged and he will be needing a hearing aid. They are conducting more tests for this and will decide the time of the operation after seeing him on Sunday afternoon,” he said.

Ahsan also said: “Kishore’s diabetes and blood pressure levels are fluctuating. Doctors are monitoring these issues too. He is taking medicines for the leg pain but still needs someone’s support to get up.”

“In his current health condition, he needs adequate rest. He will have to stay under the supervision of doctors in the hospital for few more days due to his various health problems,” he added.

Kishore was arrested on May 5, 2020, in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

He was released from jail on a six-month bail on March 4. He has been undergoing treatment at the hospital since then.
