Following court directives Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) authorities have formed a three-member board for the medical examination and treatment of cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore.

The medical board is headed by Dr Sheikh Nurul Fattah Rumi, head of the ENT department of DMCH, with the other members being Dr Fakhrul Amin Khan, head of the Department of Orthopedics and Md Hafiz Sardar, head of the Department of Medicine.

Director Brigadier General Nazmul Haque said the medical board has been constituted as per the directions of the court. The next steps will be taken accordingly.

On May 5 last year, cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore was arrested from his Kakrail residence on charges of spreading misinformation about the government on social media.

A case was filed under the DAS against Kishore and 10 others with Ramna police station, on charges of posting anti-government remarks on Facebook.

Later, a court sent Kishore to jail under the case and was released on March 5 on a six months bail.
