The woman’s son files a general diary with the Paltan police in Dhaka
Jannat Ara Jharna, whom senior Hefazat-e-Islam leader Mamunul Haque claims to be his second wife, has been missing since April 3.
Her son Abdur Rahman filed a general diary on Saturday night with Dhaka’s Paltan police station, said OC Abu Bakar Siddique.
Rahman went to his mother’s home at Dhanmondi’s North Circular Road to check on her as he has been not able to get in touch with her since the Narayanganj resort incident, said the police officer
Quoting Rahman, OC Siddique told Dhaka Tribune that according to her landlord, Jharna had not returned home for the last two to three days.

“There, he [Rahman] found three diaries that her mother kept and set off for his village home. After reaching the Paltan intersection, he noticed that he was being followed by some unidentified people and feared that they might snatch the diaries away. He then came to us to file a general diary [GD] and handed over the diaries to us.”
In the GD, Rahman claimed that his and his mother’s lives were in danger.
On April 3, Narayanganj police took Hefazat Joint Secretary General Mamunul into custody after locals caught him at Sonaragaon upazila’s Royal Resort with Jharna.
Mamunul later claimed that Jharna was his second wife and they had been married for the last two years.
