Quader asks BRTC to use digital tech in trip management, ticketing

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday directed Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) to use digital technology in its trip management and ticketing.

“Use digital technology in every important sector of BRTC along with its trip management and ticketing,”he said.

He gave the instruction while exchanging views with BRTC’s officials on a virtual platform from his residence.

Obaidul Quader, also general secretary of Awami League, hoped that the digital technology will reduce irregularities when it is in use.

He said around Tk3 crore was sent online as gratuity for 242 officers and employees of the BRTC.

Chaired by Chairman of BRTC Md Tajul Islam, the meeting was also addressed by road transport and highways division secretary Md Nazrul Islam. BRTC officers, employees, and depot managers also joined the meeting.
