Death toll climbs to 11,150
Bangladesh recorded 97 more deaths from Covid-19 in the 24 hours between 8am Sunday and 8am Monday.
During the same period, 3,306 new cases were also recorded around the country.
With this the total number of cases increased to 748,628 and the death toll rose to 11,150.
The latest figures were published on Monday by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) via a press release.
The seven-day moving average of deaths on Monday went down to 93.3, while the day's rate of infections also decreased to 12.8%.
Of the 97 deceased, 61 were male and 36 were female. Ninety-three died in different hospitals across the country, three died at home and one person was declared dead on arrival.

Sixty-four of the Covid-19 victims died in Dhaka, 12 in Chittagong, six in Khulna and Sylhet divisions, four in Rajshahi, three in Barisal, two in Rangpur, and one in Mymensingh divisions.
Fifty-nine of the deceased were aged above 60. Twenty of them were between the age range 51-60, 10 between 41-50, four between 31-40, two between 21-30, and one of the victim was aged between 11 to 20.
Till now, 8,181 (73.37%) men and 2,969 women (26.63%) lost their lives to the virus.
The mortality rate is 1.49%, the overall infection rate stands at 13.94% and the recovery rate at 88.39%.
Another 4,241 patients recovered over the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 661,693.
A total 25,786 tests were conducted over the last 24 hours and additionally 25,864 samples were collected in the same period.

Another 19,520 people got the first dose over the last 24 hours, and 171,570 got the second dose. Till date, 5,818,400 got the first dose and 2,326,866 got fully vaccinated in the country.
On March 8, health authorities in Bangladesh reported the first three cases of Covid-19, a severe acute respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus strain which was later named Sars-CoV-2.
The novel coronavirus broke out in China's Wuhan city in late December, 2019 and quickly spread throughout the world, becoming a pandemic in less than three months.
The fast spreading coronavirus has claimed 3,124,581 lives and infected 147,871,365 people across the world till Mondday afternoon, according to Worldometer.
As many as 125,446,250 people have recovered from Covid-19 which has spread to 219 countries and territories across the planet.
