Rain or thundershowers is likely to occur in Dhaka and elsewhere again any time after Monday evening amid the ongoing heatwave that baked the countrymen for days.
Meanwhile, the nor'wester that lashed the capital and other regions of the country on Sunday night gave people a brief respite from the sweltering heat.
Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque said Dhaka and its adjacent areas witnessed the nor'wester in the last two days.
"It may again lash different regions including Dhaka any time after this evening. Besides, rain or thundershowers may occur in many places intermittently throughout this week," he added.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted that rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, and Sylhet divisions with hails at places.
A mild heatwave is sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Dhaka, Tangail, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Noakhali, Feni, Pabna, Patuakhali, and Khepupara and it may abate from some more places, the Met Office said in a forecast for the next 24 hours commencing at 9am on Monday.

The country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 37.4°C in Jessore and the minimum temperature on Monday was recorded 21.0°C in Sylhet.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Monday was recorded 49 millimetres in Chandpur.
The sun will set at 6:28pm on Monday and will rise at 5:22am on Tuesday in Dhaka.
