Nessa immigrated to the US at the age of 21
Bangladesh-origin American Nessa has recently been appointed as Sergeant in the New York Police Department (NYPD), a first for any female Bangladeshi in the NYPD.
The official Facebook pages of NYPD and US Embassy Dhaka celebrated her joining on the occasion of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM).
Nessa immigrated to the US at the age of 21 and juggled two jobs while studying English, the US Embassy Dhaka wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
