Latest edition of the list includes six more countries than the last
Bangladesh has dropped six places to rank 106th in the latest edition of the Henley Passport Index 2021, once again sharing the same spot with Lebanon and Sudan.
Sri Lanka and Iran are immediately ahead of Bangladesh, sharing the 105th spot. Kosovo and Libya are below on 107th.
In the previous edition of the index in April this year, Bangladesh, Lebanon, and Sudan had ranked 100th out of a total 110 countries. The latest edition includes a total 116 countries.
The index is the original ranking of all the world's passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.

At present, the passport holders of Bangladesh can travel without prior visa to 41 destinations, according to the Henley Passport Index 2021.
Among South Asian neighbours, Maldives stands at 65th position, with its passport holders allowed visa-free travel or on-arrival visas to 87 countries.
India ranks 90th and Bhutan 95th.
Nepal and Pakistan ranked worse than Bangladesh with 109th and 113th position, respectively. Afghanistan is at the bottom of the list.
Japan and Singapore hold the top two spots in the index, while Germany and South Korea share the third spot.
In 2020, Bangladesh had ranked 111th.
