Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country

A mild heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur division and the regions of Bogra, Noagaon, Sirajgonj, Mymensingh, and Sylhet and it may continue at some places.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is also likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barisal divisions with heavy falls at isolated places over the country, a Met Office release said.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The country’s maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 37 °C jointly at Bogra, Dinajpur, and Sayedpur while minimum temperature today was 25°C in Sylhet.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am on Tuesday was recorded 80mm at Sylhet.

The low over the west-central bay and adjoining northwest bay off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast now lies over coastal areas of north Andhra Pradesh, south Odisha, and adjoining bay areas.

It is likely to move in a northwesterly direction.

The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, the centre of the low, and thence northeastwards to Assam across Gengetic West Bengal and the southern part of Bangladesh.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over north bay.
