They removed the obstructions around 2:45pm when the police mediated a meeting between the staff and the factory authorities. Later they took position in front of the factory till evening.
Meanwhile, workers of National Chemical Manufacturing Co Ltd in Borobari area of Gazipur also protested demanding arrears and Eid bonus in the morning.
They demonstrated for the third consecutive day on Tuesday demanding their four months’ salaries and bonuses.
Mahfuzul Islam, an assistant chemist at the factory and president of the workers' union, said that the authorities had been dilly-dallying about paying the dues for long. No solution was found in this regard even after discussing it with the senior government officials.
In this context, the workers started protesting in front of the main gate on Sunday.
