Bangladesh Youth Skills Fest 2021 held

On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, social fintech venture Inspiring Bangladesh arranged the virtual Bangladesh Youth Skills Festival 2021 from July 15-16.

The festival was inaugurated on July 15, with State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel as the chief guest.

During the launch ceremony, the minister praised the event organizers and said: “Young people have no choice but to increase their skills to move forward. This skill development should not be limited to only a few sectors.”

University Grants Commission (UGC) member Dr Sazzad Hossain, Ambassador of Japan in Bangladesh ITO Naoki, North South University (NSU) Board of Trustees Chairman Azim Uddin Ahmed, NSU Vice Chancellor Prof Atiqul Islam, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Chief Operating Officer (COO) Arshadul Hasan, Chairman of Halima Group Abul Kalam Hasan Tagar, and founder and CEO of Inspiring Bangladesh Ltd Imran Fahad were among those on the guest list for the event.

Panel discussions were moderated by Imran Fahad, Sumaiya Zaman, Pavel Sarwar, Md Altamis Nabil, Swadhin Khan Mohammad Nakib, Jamil Ahmed and Md Robiul Islam Robi.

The festival ended with a webinar on “Expectations from Youth in Post Pandemic Bangladesh.” 

Quazi M Ahmed, founder and president of BOLD, Professor Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, dean of the school of business and economics at NSU, Zara Mahbub Country, director and CEO of KITC Limited, Ashiq Ahmed, director of Union Bank, Dr David Dowland, registrar of Brac University, Kashef Rahman, CEO of Data Bird, Barrister A B M Hamidul Mishbah, founder of Bangladesh Intellectual Property Forum, and Dr M Mamoon Al Bashir, assistant professor of supply chain management and digitalization at University of Hull in the UK, were among the panellists at the concluding webinar.

The Bangladesh Youth Skills Fest 2021 was streamed live on the Facebook pages of Inspiring Bangladesh and partner organizations.
