Cautionary signal 3 for maritime ports, river ports asked to hoist signal number 1
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places across Bangladesh including capital Dhaka during the next few days.
A fresh low-pressure area, formed on Thursday, over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Bangladesh, is responsible for the increased rainfall activity over the country, a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin said on Saturday.
Meteorologist Ruhul Quddus said: “Heavy rains are expected in many parts of the country, especially in the southwest region, due to the freshly formed low-pressure,” reports Bangla Tribune.
The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, centre of the well-marked low, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across the southern part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is active over southern part and fairly active elsewhere over the country. Monsoon is strong over North Bay.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three.
Besides, the river ports have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number one.

But, day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.
