On the 50th birthday of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and grandson of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a book titled “Sajeeb Wazed Joy: Tarunnodipto Gorbito Pothchola” has been unveiled.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the bilingual book at Ganabhaban on Tuesday morning, according to a media statement. She also released a special commemorative stamp to mark the birthday of her son.
The title of the English version of the book reads “Sajeeb Wazed Joy: A Spirited Graceful Journey.”
The book contains a number of articles, newsletters and rare photographs on the life of Sajeeb Wazed Joy. It is dedicated to the young generation of Bangladesh.
It was his vision to build a “Digital Bangladesh” as mentioned in the 2008 election manifesto of the Awami League, the statement reads.
After the victory of the Awami League in the election, he was made the ICT affairs adviser to the prime minister.

Due to his leadership and influence, Joy was selected as the “Global Leader of the World” at the World Economic Forum in 2007.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak is the advisory editor of the 160-page book.
The book is edited by Chowdhury Nafiz Sarafat, chairman of the Canadian University of Bangladesh and the Padma Bank.
Shahriar Khan Barna has designed the cover and layout of the book.
The book is published by Yasin Kabir Joy of Joyeeta Prokashoni.
The price of the book is Tk3,000. The book is also available in an e-book format on the website - https://gorbitopothchola.net/.
PM releases postage stamp
The premier on Tuesday also released a special commemorative postage stamp, an opening day cover and a data card marking the birth anniversary of her ICT affairs adviser.
She unveiled the Tk10 stamp, a Tk10 opening day cover and a Tk5 data card at Ganabhaban residence in the morning. A special canceller was used on the occasion.
Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar, PMO Secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Afzal Hossain and Director General of Directorate of Posts, Bangladesh Post Office, Md Siraz Uddin, were present on the occasion.
The stamp, first-day cover and data card would be sold from Philatelic Bureau of Dhaka, GPO and at other GPOs and head post offices across the country.
