An administrative officer of the city’s Motijheel Ideal School and College has been barred from leaving the country as the anti-corruption commission is investigating corruption allegations against him.
Atiqur Rahman Khan, who is also the deputy engineer of the institution, is being investigated for alleged accumulation of illegal wealth over the admission of students, the ACC said.
According to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), a total of Tk106 crore were transacted in the last six years through 97 bank accounts of 15 banks.

In his application, the investigating officer mentioned that the accused maintains 26 accounts in Southeast Bank Ltd, 29 in Prime Bank Ltd, 10 in Dhaka Bank Ltd, 10 in Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd and three in NRB Global Bank Limited.
He is the owner of a bookstore called Biswas Library at Banasree Mosque Market, a supershop called Biswas Bazar at Plot No 34 of Aftabnagar B Block, a real estate business called Vision-71, and five houses in Aftabnagar and Banasree areas.
The search operation is likely to be prolonged or hampered if the accused flees abroad, the investigative officer said.
