The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three suspected arms dealers in Chittagong’s Chambal and Bailchhari areas on Saturday.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Mohiuddin, 46, Mohammad Nurul Amin alias Baua, 55, Mohammad Shahidul Islam, 30, according to a press release from RAB-7.
After receiving a tip-off, a RAB-7 team conducted a drive in the Bailchhari area in the afternoon and arrested Mohammad Mohiuddin and Mohammad Nurul Amin. A firearm was recovered from their possession.
Acting on another tip-off, RAB-7 conducted a drive at “Maer Doa” pharmacy in the Khalifa Para area around 7pm and arrested Mohammad Shahidul Islam. He also had a firearm as well as five bullets.

According to RAB’s investigation, the three were involved in buying and selling arms, using illegal weapons, and many other crimes in the area.
RAB sources said the arrestees have many injury marks on their bodies from clashes with other gangs.
The recovered evidence has been handed over to Banshkhali police station in Chittagong district for further legal action.
