Light to moderate rain likely over the country

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur in different parts of the country, a Met Office release said on Wednesday.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The low over Northwest Bay off the Odisha coast now lies over coastal Odisha and adjoining Northwest Bay. It is likely to move west-northwestwards.

The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, the center of the low to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.

The country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 34.3°C at Dinajpur and the minimum temperature on Wednesday is 24.4°C at Sandwip.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Wednesday was recorded 105 millimeters (mm) at Sandwip.

The sun will set at 6:29pm on Wednesday and will rise at 5:36am on Thursday in Dhaka.
