The minister blames BN-Jamaat, anti-independence clique for hatching conspiracy
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Friday said the successors of Ziaur Rahman and Khandaker Mostaq were plotting to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
"Bangabandhu was assassinated along with his family with the direct help of Ziaur Rahman and Mostaq. Their successors continue plotting to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the legacy of Bangabandhu's blood and ideals," he said.
"They brutally killed the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members to destroy the ideals behind the great Liberation War. Later, the grenade attack was carried out on August 21 to make the Awami League leaderless," he said.
He said this at a function as the chief guest on the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and in memory of the victims of the horrific grenade attack of the 21st August, organised by the Central Committee of "Amra Muktijudhher Shontan'".
President of the organization M Sajjad Hossain presided over the program, directed by General Secretary Rasheduzzaman Shaheen.

The minister called upon the new generation including the children to carry forward the economic program of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by nurturing Bangabandhu's ideals.
"Bangabandhu was a statesman skilled in all aspects. His three-and-a-half-year tenure is a shining example,” he said, adding, "Bangabandhu was the only leader in the world who dreamt of independence in his lifetime, united the people of the country in the war of independence and achieved independence, if Bangabandhu had not been born, we might not be independent today," he said.

The minister said that the two incidents of August 15 and August 21 were linked by a deep conspiracy.
"BNP-Jamaat and the anti-independence clique are directly involved in this conspiracy. It is time to unmask these conspirators," Mozammel said.
"A neutral national commission will soon be formed to identify the culprits behind the assassination of Bangabandhu and present that to the nation," he added.
