‘Air licensing behind delay in Bangladesh-India flights not true’

Authorities have described the information as rumour that the air bubble flights between Bangladesh and India were postponed due to a delay in air license preparations. 

“There is no issue with the air licences,” said Group Captain Imranur Rahman, director of Flight Standard, Regulations and International Affairs at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), on Wednesday.

"Flights will not resume on September 3, but the matter will be resolved soon,” he said, without giving details.

Previously, the authorities announced that flight operations between the countries under the air bubble agreement might resume from Friday, after being suspended for four months due to rising coronavirus infections.

Passengers travelling from Bangladesh to India will be subjected to mandatory self-paid confirmatory molecular tests on arrival at the Indian airports concerned, according to a circular issued by the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation on Saturday.
