Truck rams into the boundary wall of the central bank’s building in the port city
Seven people were taken to the hospital in Chittagong, when a truck rammed into the boundary wall of the Bangladesh Bank’s office in the port city.
The incident took place around 12pm on Sunday, said Katwali police OC Mohammad Nezam Uddin.
The driver lost control of the vehicle as it was taking a turn around the bank. It hit the wall causing it to collapse, he told Dhaka Tribune.
Seven people have been taken to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital and the driver has been detained, added OC Nezam.
Five of them are in critical condition, said Assistant Sub-Inspector Alauddin Talukder of the hospital’s police outpost.
The victims have been identified as Sentu Mohammad, 28, Md Selim, 31, Deepak Dhar, 28, Belal, 35, Palash, 55; the two others are yet to be identified.
