A one-year-old girl drowned in a water-filled bucket on Tuesday at the capital’s Kamrangirchar area.
The deceased was identified as Hafiza, daughter of Sumon Hossain, a garment worker.
Father Sumon Hossain said Hafiza walked out of their room when they were having meal.

After a while, when they heard no sound from the toddler, they went out to check and found Hafiza in the bucket filled with water in the bathroom.
Hafiza was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in an unconscious condition where doctors announced her dead.
Inspector of DMCH police camp Bacchu Miah said the body was sent for an autopsy.
