2 unidentified bodies wash ashore on Seagull Point in Cox's Bazar

Local authorities could not confirm whether the deceased was a local or a tourist

Two bodies were recovered from Seagull Point of Cox's Bazar sea beach on Friday.

Lifeguards found the first body floating by the beach around 1pm and the second one around 3pm.

The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed as of filing this report Friday night.

Mahbub Alam, a beach supervisor, confirmed the information to UNB.

However, he could not confirm whether the deceased was a local or a tourist.

On September 8, Taufique Mokbul, 22, a resident of Dhaka's Adabor area and a student of Brac University, drowned around the same Seagull Point, which corresponds to the location of the eponymous hotel on the beachfront.
