Rajshahi University students on Sunday staged a demonstration on the campus to press home their three-point demand including reopening of dormitories by September 30.
The students also demanded steps for preventing the private hostel owners from taking money from admission seekers and permission for setting up a help desk for them.
They brought a procession from in front of the administrative building 5.
Mohabbat Hossain Milon, a student of the Islamic Studies department, said if the dormitories are not reopened, the admission seekers will face a lot of problems.

“So, we want the dormitories to be reopened by September 30,” he added.
After a meeting with the students, Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar, vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University, said the decision of reopening of dormitories will be taken after a meeting of the academic council on September 30.
The university’s admission test is scheduled to begin from the first week of October.
