Around 62% of people developed antibodies after receiving a single dose of the vaccine, the study says
Researchers have found that 99% of people had adequate antibodies present in their bodies six months after receiving two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
A recent study led by Dr Gautam Buddha Das, vice-chancellor of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), revealed the information.
The study also found that about 62% of people who received a single dose of the vaccine possessed antibodies.
In addition, about half of the people participating in the study developed natural antibodies without any vaccination.

Single-dose vaccine recipients produced three times more antibodies than people without any vaccination. The number is five times more for people with both doses of the vaccine.
Statistics show that without the vaccine, the human body naturally produces 53.71 units (DU / ml) of antibodies, 159.08 units after receiving one dose of vaccine and 255.46 units after getting two doses of vaccine.
According to the researchers, the study was conducted on a total of 746 people from March to September, including doctors, nurses, patients, patient assistants, cleaners and garment workers from various government and private hospitals in Chittagong.
Of them, 223 people had received only the first dose and 231 had received both doses of the vaccine. The remaining 292 people did not get any vaccines.

The study found that the amount of antibodies produced in the first month after a person had taken the first dose of the Covid vaccine decreased by 25% in the second month.
The amount of antibodies produced two months after receiving the second dose was reduced by 21% in the fourth month. In addition, antibody production was down to 3.4% in the sixth month compared to the fourth month.
The research team included Prof Dr Sharmin Chowdhury, Prof Dr MA Hasan Chowdhury, Dr Jahan Ara, Dr Sirajul Islam, Dr Tareq Ul Quader, Dr Anan Das, Dr Mohammad Saiful Islam, Dr Yasir Hasib, Dr Tazrina Rahman and Dr Simanta Das.
