Rohingya held with ‘Ice’ worth 3C in Teknaf

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested a man with 3kg of “Ice,” a form of methamphetamine, in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.

The drugs are valued at about Tk3 crore.

Abdul Latif was arrested in a special drive on Friday afternoon, RAB-15 Senior Assistant Director Abdullah Mohammad Sheikh Saadi confirmed.

RAB conducted the raid on Marine Drive in the Aliabad Shapla Chattar area based on a tip-off. The drugs were hidden in Latif's shopping bag.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that Abdul Latif was a member of a local gang. They used to collect Ice from the border areas of Teknaf and sell it to different parts of the country, including Cox's Bazar. 

A case was filed against Abdul Latif with Teknaf police station in Cox's Bazar.
