Students can get jabbed only in the city corporation areas
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Sunday said the government had given its approval to vaccinate students over the age of 12 years to beat the ongoing pandemic.
She said: “The vaccination program is being discussed with the Directorate of General Health Services (DGHS), and preparations are underway in this regard.”
However, due to technical difficulties, the students would be able to get jabbed only in the city corporation areas, the minister told reporters at Chandpur Circuit House in the afternoon.
“A process is underway for determining when and how the vaccinations should begin for the students,” she added.

Currently, students aged 18 and above can register for Covid-19 vaccination through the government-regulated Surokkha app.
On September 15, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the government had planned to gradually bring students aged 12 and above under vaccination coverage, as part of its mission to vaccinate 80% of the country’s population.
To bring 50% of the people under vaccination coverage by December, the government is taking measures as per the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO).
