Puja activities to remain suspended during Adhan, prayers at mosques
The government has asked Durga Puja organizing committees across the country not to allow fair or stalls near the pavilions this year amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
At a meeting on Sunday, the Home Ministry also urged the committees to suspend all activities during the Adhan and prayers at mosques near the pavilions.

Chaired by Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, the meeting was also attended by Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed among others.
Last year too, the government imposed some restrictions considering the pandemic situation.
Home Minister Kamal said that on the occasion of the Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, the law enforcement agencies would take tight security measures for ensuring a peaceful celebration at the 31,137 pavilions across the country.

The government has planned to deploy police forces along with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Ansar-VDP and community police.
