Timings for several exams overlap making it difficult for those taking the tests
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) will not hold any examinations on the weekends until further notice, confirmed PSC Chairman Shoharab Hossain.
“We have learned that as many as 14 examinations for various posts under the non-cadre service are being held in a day,” he told a leading Bangla daily on Wednesday.
He said that the back-to-back examinations are being held due to the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown that led many organizations postponing examinations.
The PSC chief said that in order to make it easier for job-seekers, from now on, no new public service examinations will be held on Friday and Saturday, according to Prothom Alo.
In fact, the BCS non-cadre tests for the posts of craft instructors, scheduled to be held this Friday, has been postponed to October 14.
“For we don’t want to hold exams on Friday and Saturday. But we don’t know if it will be possible,” he said.
Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company, BCSIR, Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh Palli Bidyut Board, National Security Intelligence, Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited, General Insurance Corporation, Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited, Agricultural Development Corporation, Bangladesh Rice Research Institute, Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited and Bangladesh Power Development Board were scheduled to hold tests this upcoming Friday.
Several of the exams were scheduled to start from 9 am and overlapped with others making it difficult for those sitting for multiple exams.
