Police on the lookout for the vehicle and its driver
A 65-year-old man was struck and killed by a speeding microbus in Dhaka’s Rayerbag area on Friday.
The incident took place at 8:30pm, while the man was returning home.
The deceased has been identified as Swapan Tabriz, father of Md Samsuddin Ahmed Mishu, a journalist with the Kaler Kantho, a leading Bangla daily.

According to the deceased's family, Swapan went to a relative's home in the city’s Basabo area on Friday afternoon. Later on, he was run over by a speeding microbus on his way home to Rayerbag.
Sub-Inspector Mohammad Khaleq of Jatrabari police station said a Chittagong-bound speeding microbus ran over Swapan. Currently, police are on the lookout for the microbus and its driver.
A case is also being prepared in this regard, he added.
