Six of them died in separate incidents in Tangail
At least 10 people were killed and several others injured in separate road accidents in Tangail, Jessore and Gazipur late on Thursday and yesterday.
In Tangail, six people were killed and at least nine others injured in accidents reported from Mirzapur, Madhupur and Ghatail upazilas.
Suruj Mia, 32, and Md Golam Rabbani, 30, were killed on the spot during a head-on collision between a bus and a covered-van in Mirzapur yesterday afternoon, reports our correspondent Abdullah Al Numan.
In Madhupur, three people, including a woman and her daughter, were killed and four others injured after a pick-up van crashed into a CNG-run three-wheeler on the Tangail-Jamalpur Highway.
Sharmin Akhter, 32, Shohagi Akhter, 3, and Rasel Mia, 22, were critically injured and declared dead after they were taken to the Upazila Health Complex, police said.
In Ghatail, Rafiqul Islam, a school teacher, was killed after being run over by a truck in the Deulabari area late on Thursday night.
In Jessore, two men were killed on the spot after being run over by a bus in front of Prembag Government Primary School on the Jessore-Khulna highway in Abhaynagar upazila late on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Subid Ali alias Abid Ali, 60, and Kubad Ali Mondal, 62, said police.
In Gazipur, two people were also killed in separate road accidents late on Thursday, reports our correspondent Raihanul Islam Akand citing police.
Mohammad Abdullah, 45, died on the way to a hospital after a truck hit his motorcycle in Kaliganj upazila’s Kalihasi area.
Meanwhile, Nadira Khatun, 40, was run over by a truck while crossing the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in the Sreepur area.
