He requests guardians to not pamper children and keep vigilance
The Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) commissioner on Saturday sought cooperation from all to curb the teen gangs in the city.
While speaking at a program at Dampara Police Lines on the occasion of Community Policing Day, the CMP chief, Saleh Md Tanvir, said that cooperation from all is required for curbing the gang culture in the society.
Stressing the need for family bonding, Tanvir also requested the guardians not to pamper the children and to keep a vigilant eye on them.

With Daily Azadi Editor and President of Chittagong city chapter of Community Policing MA Malek in the chair, CMP Additional commissioners SM Mostaque Ahamed Khan and Shyamol Kumar Nath, deputy commissioners Amir Jafor and Bijoy Basak, and Secretary of Chittagong city Community Policing Ohid Siraj Swapan, addressed the program, among others.
Every year the day is observed to make people aware of community policing and its benefits.
Community police are playing a vital role in curbing crime and maintaining law and order. From the grassroots level, they provide information that helps police apprehend criminals quickly.
Community policing is a concept that allows police and community to work together, aiming at making the society free from terrorism, militancy, stalking, drug abuse, and child marriage.
