CMM court asks police to submit probe report over Ashkona bombing case

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka on Saturday asked Airport police to submit a probe report by April 25 over Ashkona bombing case. Magistrate AKM Moinuddin Siddiqui passed the order after receiving the FIR filed by Airport police station on Friday. A case was filed against seven to eight unnamed people over Friday’s suicide bomb attack at Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) barrack adjacent to Ashkona Hajj Camp in Dhaka. The assault occurred only two days after Islamic State (IS) called for suicide attacks in Bangladesh, and one day after two militants of New JMB group blew themselves up to evade arrest by the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit during a raid in Chittagong’s Sitakunda. All prisons across the country were put on alert and security was beefed up at all domestic and international airports and Rab offices following the attack
