A Bogra court has sentenced a youth to double life-term imprisonment in a case filed for abduction and rape of a ninth grader in Shajahanpur area four years ago.The convict, Ariful Islam, 24, is the son of Abdul Hakim Uddin from Shajapur Darjipara village in Shajahanpur. His two associates – siblings Shafiqul Islam and Saiful Islam – were acquitted due to lack of evidence.Bogra's Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Md Abdul Mannan declared the verdict in presence of the trio Wednesday afternoon. The court ordered that both the sentences would be executed simultaneously.Ariful used to sexually harass the 14-year-old on her way to and from school for long. On January 8 of 2013, Ariful and his accomplices abducted her when she was going to school around 8:30am. She was taken to his house and raped, the case says.The victim's mother filed the case with Shajahanpur police against Ariful, Shafiqul and Saiful. Police pressed charges against the trio on April 10 the same year. They were on bail during the trial procedure.
