The Supreme Court on Sunday granted yet another extension to the government for the issuing of a gazette listing the code of conduct for lower court judges. The latest extension, the tenth so far, means that the last issue was issued on October 8. A six-member bench led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha handed down the order after Attorney General Mahbubey Alam filed a petition Sunday morning. The apex court had previously expressed dissatisfaction at the government's failure to issue the gazette notification. The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on May 7, 2015 sent a draft of the rules to the Supreme Court which is similar to the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1985.
