
Two New JMB militants detained from Moshinda village in Kalihati upazila of Tangail have been put on remand for three days.
Tangail Additional Chief Magistrate Court’s Hamidul Islam approved the remand petition on Monday afternoon. The detained were identified as Ashfaqur Rahman alias Abu Mahir Al Bangali, 22, and Roqibul Hasan alias Abu Taidir Al Bangali, 19.
According to the case statement, the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit detained the two militants from a five-storey building in the Balurmat area under Sadarghat police station on January 1. Ten grenades and two suicide vests were found at the location.
After the explosives were recovered, the detained militants admitted links to two other militants captured in Tangail earlier. A case was filed against the remanded militants with Kalihati police station.
RAB 12 Sub-Inspector Robiul Islam had petitioned for a 10-day remand of the detainees before the judge approved three days.
