Arrest warrant issued against BNP leader Rafiqul Islam Miah

A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant against BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah in a case filed for amassing illegal wealth. Judge KM Imrul Kayes of Dhaka Special Judges Court 6 passed the order on Monday after Rafiqul failed to appear before it. Court officials said Rafiqul did not appear before the court due to illness. Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) officer Syed Liaqat Hossain filed the case against Barrister Rafiqul with Uttara police station on January 15, 2014. Later on November 30, the ACC filed the charge sheet against the accused.
