
The High Court issued a rule asking the Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh and Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to explain why their failure to ensure emergency medical services such as ambulance, doctor, nurse, and paramedics at the airport should not be declared unlawful.
The High Court bench comprised of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed.
A writ petition was filed by Selina Islam whose husband, Mir Rafiqul Islam, suffered cardiac arrest and died on October 26, 2017 because of the absence of any proper medical support, and negligence by the Dhaka airport authority.

Barrister Hamidul Mishbah, who moved the writ petition for Selina Islam, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
